Growing up....

Hey Guys!
I have been thinking about how my childhood was SO much different than my kids childhood.

I grew up in Eakly, Oklahoma. Population just over 500! Now it is under 200.
My kids here were we live the population is close to 250,000!

My graduating class there was only 8 of us. Six girls and Two boys.
My kids graduating class will be over 500 with each of them!

I grew up in a single story house.
My kids are growing up in a two story house.

Going to Wal-mart for us was just a chore. Since the nearest wal-mart was 30 to 40 mintues away.
Our Walmart here is only 1 mile away from us.

I lived VERY close to both sides of my grandparents.
Now, my kids live in another state from there grandparents.

I only traveled the US. And only Texas, Kansas, Arkanas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, & Missouri.
My kids have traveled-even lived overseas.

My first experience at flying was One Week before my 18th birthday.
My kids--all of them have flown when they were at least 6 months old.

My granddad started teaching me how to drive at 14.
Do you think I am going to let me kids drive at 14??????? Uh.....NO!

I never had gameboys, PSP's, Wii, Xbox ....you know those gaming type of things.
To entertain myself, I did what most girls do.....I went and jumped on my trampoline. Rode my bike.....and when I hit about 15....well, that is when the make-up and boys REALLY came into play.

Were my parents stricked with me? At the time, I thought they were....now, I am not so sure.
I am stricked with my kids. Eric and I try to be understanding with them...yet firm. They know if they mess up they have consquences. They understand better the cause and affect.

I had my first boyfriend in the 4th grade. I guess some things DO stay the same because Daniel had his first girlfriend in the 4th grade and Aimee who is now in the 4th grade is starting to knotice and like boys and not think they are gross.

I was raised as a only child for 8 years until my sister came along. And I only have the one sister.
I now have four kids of my own. Three of which are boys----The sex I never thought I would have so many of. And one girl. She balances us all out. She is the glitter in our silver.

My mom was the 'head' of our house and it showed.
Eric is our pilot and I am his co-pilot.

My mother was hands on but she did work all the time. And she never missed anything my sister or myself were in.
I am a sahm. I am a lot like my grandmother.

I knew growing up that I wanted to get married and be a mom.
My daughter doesn't want kids. Which I think is a good thing for now.

Oh gosh, I could go on and on......
But I will not.
Sometimes, it just amazes me what all my kids have done since birth.
I hope you all had a awesome Tuesday...
